Thor 2 Director Criticizes Edits, Says He Would "Love" A Snyder Cut-Style Re-Release

Director Alan Taylor has commented on the cold reception to 2013’s Thor: The Dark World, saying edits made to the film shifted it from his original vision. Taylor also said he would be interested in releasing a Snyder Cut-style director’s cut, but he thinks there is no chance that would ever happen.

Speaking to Inverse, Taylor said of his process for The Dark World, “I focused all my attention on making a certain movie, and then in the editing process, decisions were made to change it a lot.”

Taylor, who directed episodes of Game of Thrones before making Thor, told the site that Marvel hired him to bring some “Game of Thronseiness” to The Dark World, but the studio decided to go another way in the end. Come from Sports betting site VPbet

“My regret was that the movie that got released was changed quite a bit,” Taylor said. “I have a great fondness for some of the things that went away in the original cut. There was a kind of quality a wonder to the thing that was beautiful to me.”

In terms of a director’s cut that would be closer to his vision, Taylor said he would “love” to see this happen. However, he doesn’t see that being in the realm of possibility. “I would love to. Can you imagine that? They give me however many millions of dollars they gave him to go back in. Yeah, I don’t think I’m going to get that phone call,” he said.

Taylor’s latest project is The Sopranos prequel movie The Many Saints of Newark, which releases in October in theaters and on HBO Max. The next Thor movie, meanwhile, is 2022’s Thor: Love and Thunder, which sees Taika Waititi return to direct after finding success with Thor: Ragnarok.
